AI search visibility
Google’s AI search features do not require a secret new markup layer. They reward the same foundations that make a WordPress site crawlable, understandable, useful and technically trustworthy.
Begin with indexable, visible information
Important answers should exist as real text in the rendered page, not only inside an image, animation or interaction that a crawler may not execute reliably. Use headings to expose the question structure and keep the main explanation close to the claim it supports.
Confirm canonical URLs, indexability, sitemap inclusion and server responses. A content strategy cannot compensate for pages that are blocked, duplicated or intermittently unavailable behind a CDN or security rule.
Write for complex decisions
AI-assisted search is often used for comparisons, planning and multi-part questions. A useful article should define the problem, explain tradeoffs, show a decision process and answer the next questions a buyer is likely to ask.
Avoid producing many near-identical pages around slight keyword variations. Build one authoritative resource, then connect it to relevant service pages, case studies and narrower supporting articles. This gives readers and crawlers a coherent subject path.
Make evidence easy to verify
Use specific technical explanations, named standards and transparent limits. If a statement depends on an external source, link to the primary documentation. If a result comes from your own work, explain the context and measurement rather than presenting an unsupported number.
Author information, relevant experience, updated dates and clear ownership help readers judge credibility. They should be accurate rather than decorative. A biography does not rescue generic or copied content.
Treat internal linking as information architecture
Internal links should explain relationships, not merely satisfy a plugin score. A performance article can point to an optimization service, a migration framework and a relevant case study because those pages solve adjacent parts of the same decision.
Use descriptive anchor text and ensure important pages are reachable through normal navigation and contextual links. Orphaned service pages and isolated blog posts waste the authority the site has already earned.
Use structured data honestly
Schema should describe the content visitors can actually see. Article, BreadcrumbList, Person, Organization and eligible service or product markup can clarify entities, but fabricated reviews or hidden FAQ answers create risk.
Validate templates after plugin or theme changes. More schema types do not produce more visibility when the underlying page is thin, inconsistent or technically inaccessible.
Measure qualified discovery
Search Console reports AI-feature traffic within normal web search reporting. Combine query and landing-page data with analytics events for technical review requests, meaningful contact submissions and visits to commercial pages.
Watch for impressions on complex problem queries, not only ranking positions for a short keyword list. Improve pages that attract the right audience but fail to move readers toward evidence or a relevant service.

Questions clients usually ask
Do I need special AI Overview schema?
No special schema is required. Use supported structured data accurately and maintain standard technical SEO.
Does llms.txt guarantee AI visibility?
No. It may help some systems discover guidance, but it does not replace crawlability, indexation, useful content or search policies.
How quickly will these changes increase traffic?
There is no guaranteed timeline. Monitor crawling, impressions, qualified queries and conversions, then improve pages using observed data.
